The Gambling Commission’s drive for a safer environment for punters is to involve senior industry leaders in working groups tackling VIP schemes and other challenges.

Three working groups are to be set up as part of a drive by the commission to make gambling safer.

The initiative follows a briefing to industry leaders in October from the commission's chief executive Neil McArthur, when he laid down the three challenges the industry must deal with to raise standards and reduce harm across the sector.
