Frost's graduation from the pointing field has been remarkable

At the risk of being accused of familiar drum-banging, it was great to follow a series of gratifying results for ex-British pointing participants on Boxing Day.

We hear plenty about victories by Irish pointers in Britain, but Blackbow's bumper success on debut for Willie Mullins at Leopardstown reversed the trend. He won in Gloucestershire last season for Sophie Lacey's Herefordshire stable, and was then sold for £150,000 at Goffs UK's Aintree Sale.

Other Boxing Day highlights included Get On The Yager's Rowland Meyrick Chase win, his fifth for Dan Skelton since he left Jack Barber's yard with a two-from-two record in British points, while Dica's success at Sedgefield was his fourth under rules. Dica was ridden by his current owner/permit trainer, farrier Paul Collins, to win four points before he was switched to racing under rules.
