Forty years on Henderson rules the roost – but new faces still make their mark

There is a fine old English word, dating back to the 1600s, that describes the act of staring vacantly or somewhat dim-wittedly at something hard to believe or comprehend.

The term in question is "gawp" and the tell-tale and somewhat unattractive signs of somebody gawping are an open mouth, mildly bulging peepers and eyebrows raised so high they nearly meet the comb-over.

So gawping is not what the young would describe as "a good look". In short, it is best avoided.
