Early season juvenile hurdles should usually be treated with a degree of caution but Fil Dor, who showed promise on the Flat in France, looked a smart recruit on his hurdle debut and first run for Gordon Elliott. In a steadily run race, he settled well and jumped soundly before showing a tidy turn of foot to pull clear of his main market rival. He is open to improvement and could turn out in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse at the end of November.
