It is one of those books you want to open straight away and it was reassuring to find the anticipation was shared by none other than John Francome, a friend of Knight but more to the point a champion jockey who saw first-hand some of the greats at work, most notably Fred Winter at the Uplands yard now occupied by Warren Greatrex.
