Epsom holding out for superheroes as big day looms

Is it a bird, is it a plane? It’s . . . the Epsom open day! Which just so happens to coincide with the racecourse’s superhero family day the same afternoon, in case you were wondering.

Tomorrow week – bank holiday Monday – is the big day for the home of the Derby. The event begins at 8.30am with horses on the gallops, while trainers’ yards are open from 9.30am.

A courtesy bus service will ferry visitors between yards for the event, for which all proceeds go to local charity Epsom Racing Staff Welfare, which provides affordable accommodation and other welfare benefits for Epsom’s racing staff.
