Epatante and Zanahiyr the two from left field - David Jennings' Ten To Follow

Epatante: (Barry Geraghty) wins the Champion Hurdle
Epatante: could pick up some straightforward Grade 1 points in the Fighting FifthCredit: Edward Whitaker

You simply cannot afford to leave Epatante off your list. That might sound strange considering she is about to turn nine, is not as good as she was and her chances of winning a second Champion Hurdle are slim to none but, nonetheless, hear me out.

The reason for her inclusion is the fact there are 25 points up for grabs for winning the Fighting Fifth Hurdle and it looks like she will only have to turn up at Newcastle in one piece to win that.

In his stable tour, Nicky Henderson said that Constitution Hill will return in the Ascot Hurdle and Epatante would bid for a hat-trick of Fighting Fifths so include both and get some points on the board early. They will both be long odds-on and, if they do the business as expected, that is 45 points banked. Lovely.

It is hard to envisage anything other than victory for A Plus Tard in the Betfair Chase, while Allaho in the King George should be a sight to behold.

Galopin Des Champsoozes class. He will take some stopping wherever he shows up and Energumene has proven himself to be the best two-miler around.

I don't like to hear stuff like a "rare bone condition" and "intermittent lameness" when it comes to Shishkin. All his problems may well have cleared up but he is worth taking on in the Tingle Creek and the one I want to take him on with is Edwardstone. Arkle winners have a terrific record in it.

Plenty have written off Ahoy Senor for the season ahead after his Charlie Hall blowout, but I wouldn't be so quick to do so. His jumping was all over the place but when he jumps like he did at Aintree in April, he is a relentless galloper who is very hard to catch. I'm convinced you will be hearing plenty more from him over the coming months.

Appreciate It ought to make a smashing chaser. Had he not ran in last season's Champion Hurdle and instead began his career over fences on the back of his scintillating 24-length success in the Supreme he would not be 10-1 for the Sporting Life Arkle. He would be half that price. It would surprise me if he didn't conclude the campaign as Willie Mullins' top-rated novice chaser.

Zanahiyr strikes me as a big player in the Stayers' Hurdle. Gordon Elliott is planning on sending him in that direction this season and I'm not sure there are many of his potential rivals in that who would possess the class to finish third to Honeysuckle in a Champion Hurdle.

The future he goes the better he is going to be and if he returns with a victory in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan, his price could plummet for the Stayers' Hurdle.
