Elliott's relentless pursuit of first title evident in final quarter of 2019

Gordon Elliott's relentless pursuit of a first trainers' championship was never more evident than in the final quarter of 2019, when he sent out 416 runners, 116 more than title rival and defending champion Willie Mullins.

A lucrative festive period, helped in no small part by the last-gasp victory of Delta Work in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown, has led to Elliott sneaking into a €340,117 lead in the title race. He has earned €2,748,390, while Mullins sits second on €2,408,273.

Joseph O'Brien was the second busiest trainer in the final quarter of the year with 352 runners.
