'If he wins off a mark of 136, he could be a player for the County Hurdle'

Ascot takes centre stage this Saturday for a typically high-quality running of the Long Walk Hurdle (2.25), the last major event before we get stuck into our festive feast of jumping.

I was buzzed up to see Nicky Henderson's talented grey line up in the feature but it's a real shame for everyone that Buzz won't make it after a setback on Friday morning.

With the favourite out of the race, I think Ronald Pump might finally win a Grade 1.
