Dettori hopes to get lucky again at Glorious Goodwood

Frankie Dettori has plenty of reasons to look forward to the Qatar Goodwood festival next week – you know, the meeting we all call Glorious Goodwood.

As retained rider for Sheikh Joaan Al Thani’s Al Shaqab Racing, Dettori is set to have any number of good rides, including the likes of Galileo Gold in the Sussex Stakes, meaning he will skip into the weighing room each day with a certain joie de vivre.

At least, that is the reason most would suspect Dettori to be in such a buoyant mood at Goodwood. It appears, however, that the Italian master associates the meeting with other pleasurable activities as well.
