David Menuisier Q&A: The Sussex trainer talks form, Fabre and fears
The French-born handler takes our weekly grilling
What advice would you give your ten-year-old self?
To remain yourself whatever happens. Life is tough but just be a good man, don't change anything and just carry on.
What is your earliest racing memory?
Tony Bin winning the Arc in 1988. I remember that race very well. I watched it at home and I was fascinated by the struggle down the straight.
Only a few weeks ago you had six winners from ten runners in the space of a week. How good was that?
It was incredible. I have about 25 horses and about eight or nine of those are two-year-olds who haven't run. It's a massive achievement. My father always told me if you're not strong then you have to be smart and that's true in a small set-up. You can't win every battle but you can target the right races and do your best all the time.
