Racing Rogues – The Scams, Scandals and Gambles on Horse Racing in Wales by Brian Lee
£14.99, published by St. David's Press – st-davids-press.com

The former racing editor of the Western Mail lifts the lid on some of the better-known strokes pulled by some colourful characters from Wales over the last 100 years. The backdrops involved are racecourses – both licensed and flapping varieties – as well as the very popular Welsh point-to-point scene.

Although the brevity of the book (only 78 pages) might sound as if the cover price is a little extravagant, it is well worth the money for anyone interested in the inside track on some notorious gambles from the misty past and more recently.
