Much of racing is, essentially, repetitive. Similar races are won in similar style by similar horses, and if you watch for long enough there is not a lot that will surprise you. Now and again, if you're lucky, you'll see something that restores the capacity for wonder.

For six and a half furlongs of this 7f handicap, Librisa Breeze was never going to win. Given a patient ride by Robert Winston, the four-year-old saw less daylight than a mole as the race changed around him; two furlongs out he was stone last, nowhere to go. Winston waited.
