Chisholm still holding out over SIS as FOBT changes loom

Leading independent bookmaker Howard Chisholm continues to operate without taking a service from SIS and believes more of his chain of betting shops will stay open as a result when the government's change in FOBT stakes comes into effect.

While Chisholm does take the rival service from The Racing Partnership (TRP) he has been doing without SIS, whose racecourses include those under the Jockey Club banner, Goodwood, Newbury and York as well as Irish racing.

Chisholm will be speaking in his role as a director of the Bookmakers Technology Consortium (BTC) at the Bookmakers Trade Fair in Solihull on Wednesday when he will be posing the question 'Are independent bookmakers dead and buried?'. Media rights costs will be part of that discussion.
