The Gold Cup featured 11 runners, two previous winners and last year's one-two.

But we were treated to a very different result and another example of the racing brain possessed by Rachael Blackmore, who had clearly learnt a lot about A Plus Tard from last year's race and also from the difference between his performances in the Betfair Chase in November and the Savills Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas.
