Can she do it? Mixed feelings among our jurors about Enable's Arc credentials
Charlie Fellowes, Graeme Rodway and three others highlight their big-race views
Following Enable’s historic King George win, do you think she will land a third Arc?
David Allan, jockey There hasn’t been an Arc winner of her age [six] for many years, but she’s head and shoulders above any who have tried. The only reason she got beat last year was the ground, so as long as there isn’t any heavy rain in the run-up to the race, I don’t see why she can’t.
Harry Charlton, assistant trainer to Roger Charlton It would be wonderful to see. She clearly retains all her ability and enthusiasm. The main danger will be Love, who has a lot of class, an incredible mindset and all the allowances. It’ll be interesting which route Charlie [Appleby] takes with Ghaiyyath as he’s pretty formidable as well, but they may be leaning towards ten furlongs.
Charlie Fellowes, trainer As much as I’d love to see it, I feel she won’t. It’s a brutally tough race and if the ground ends up being horrible I think something with a lighter weight would have her measure. Three-year-olds seem to have such an advantage in that respect and, as amazing and wonderful as Enable is, I think the race is in the three-year-olds’ court.
