The curtain comes down on the season at Grennan on Sunday with a busy day in store courtesy of 198 entries, the most of the season for a traditional fixture in the point-to-point fields.

That figure is surpassed only by the April 11 fixture held at Tipperary racecourse in the early stages of the restart. Such volume is almost unheard of for a final weekend fixture and certainly brings the season to a close on a positive footing.

The final weekend of action has a different look to it this year with Kirkistown and Grennan the venues to decide the destinations for a number of the season’s prizes – most notably in the under-21 riders' category and the champion point-to-point horse.
