What lessons did we learn from this year's Lockinge won by Rhododendron?

Brett Doyle, jockey It was all about Rhododendron really. She’s a top-class four-year-old and is effective from a mile to a mile and a half on any ground.

Chris Hayes, jockey We learned that Rhododendron is a very tough and genuine filly and we were reminded that the man training her is a genius. It’s been well documented she bled in France last season, and to get her over that, even back to the track, not to mention winning a Group 1, is an amazing achievement.

James Knight, Coral odds compiler Rhododendron looked underpriced going into the race, but it proves once again that Aidan O’Brien and Coolmore are just incredibly good at winning Group 1s with horses who aren’t necessarily outstanding for the grade. The horse who caught the eye behind the winner was Accidental Agent, who is still improving and could bag a nice race somewhere this season.
