Bravemansgame was the last of five Grade 1 winners over the festive period to have emerged from the Irish point-to-point fields when he landed the MansionBet Challow Novices’ Hurdle at Newbury on Tuesday.

The ten-length success saw his trainer Paul Nicholls describe him as being "as good as Denman was at this stage", which certainly caught many people’s attention as he was propelled to the top of the ante-post market for the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle in March.

His victory also completed a Grade 1 double on the afternoon for horses who had started their careers point-to-pointing in Wexford with the Doyle brothers.
