Association of British Bookmakers chief executive Malcolm George has claimed new evidence published last week by the Gambling Commission showed there was no link between gaming machines and problem gambling.

George used the evidence to attack the recent report by the Fixed Odds Betting Terminals All Party Parliamentary Group which called for the maximum stake on B2 gaming machines to be reduced to £2.

The regulator commissioned analysis of the relationship between problem gambling and the number of different gambling activities a person takes part in.
