It is half-time in the British point-to-point season, and it would be fair to say the big teams are a couple of goals up and looking comfortable.

Fortunately, sport has a habit of ripping up scripts, which maintains public interest and should keep the players honest.

The five-time British men's champion Will Biddick rode four winners last weekend, and with 21 successes is sitting cosy at the head of the Fuller's men's championship, seven clear of an emerging three-strong chasing pack.
