Banbridge stars in the Arkle Trial - but what festival race should he tackle?
Since being promoted to Grade 2 status in 1994, the November Novices' Chase has thrown up several future stars, notably around the turn of the century when Best Mate and Azertyuiop took top honours.
Counting among the more recent winners are Al Ferof, the previous season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner, Dodging Bullets and Put The Kettle On, who were both subsequent Champion Chase winners.
The most recent renewal on Saturday was won by Banbridge, winner of last season's Martin Pipe Conditionals' Hurdle. The six-year-old had made a fine start over fences at Gowran last month and more than confirmed that promise at Cheltenham, an RPR of 158 surpassing what he achieved over hurdles to the tune of 17lb.
