If Jonathan Burke was given a euro for every time someone asked “when are you back, Johnny?”, he might not have to come back at all.

It is half-an-hour before the first race at Tipperary on Sunday and we are ambling our way through the bouncy castles to find a spot where the sound of screeching kids does not dilute a tale which the 20-year-old tells so honestly you can't help but wince in anguish.

“When are you back, Johnny?” queries senior handicapper Noel O'Brien.
