One of the regular questions that appears in the RPSunday Q&A invites our interview subjects to name their fantasy dinner party guests. It's a popular and familiar question – who hasn't mused on that one before? – which allows people to ponder what mixture of statesmen, sportsmen and celebrities they'd place round the table given all human history to pick from.
Often the hypothetical line-up is perhaps better in concept than reality. A few weeks ago, for example, former champion apprentice Lee Newman suggested sitting down with the Queen, Donald Trump, Nicola Sturgeon and three-time Cambridgeshire-winning jockey Dean McKeown. I suppose it would probably break viewing records if broadcast as an episode of Come Dine With Me, but I doubt the conversation between that incongruous foursome would flow with any particular degree of conviviality.
