'We're all very proud of Emmet' - trainer Eric McNamara hails Derby-winning son
Multiple Kerry National-winning trainer Eric McNamara hailed his son Emmet's dedication after his superb front-running ride on Serpentine in the Derby and said it is a day his family will never forget.
McNamara, whose other son Conor is also a highly regarded jockey, watched the race with his wife and two daughters and said the family got an unbelievable kick out of the 25-1 shot's victory.
McNamara said: "It was a marvellous day for the whole family. It would have been lovely to be there but due to all the restrictions we weren't. However, myself and my wife Paula and my two daughters, Kate and Erica, and little Donagh, we were all together and it was a wonderful experience. We're all very proud of Emmet.
