Envoi Allen in 'top shape' as Elliott prepares unbeaten star for Drinmore
Gordon Elliott has a whopping 34 entries at Fairyhouse on Sunday but the most important of them all is undoubtedly the unbeaten Envoi Allen, who the trainer reports to be in 'top shape' ahead of the Grade 1 baroneracing.com Drinmore Novice Chase.
Envoi Allen made it nine from nine at Down Royal late last month when justifying odds of 1-14 in a beginners chase and is already 2-1 favourite for the Marsh Novices' Chase at Cheltenham.
The superstar six-year-old will face a maximum of six rivals on Sunday, as only two trainers are represented in the Drinmore. Elliott has four of the seven entries, while Joseph O'Brien has three.
