Enrilo team decide against appealing 'wrong result' in bet365 Gold Cup

Paul Nicholls and the owners of Enrilo have elected not to appeal against the Sandown stewards' decision to demote the first past the post in Saturday's bet365 Gold Cup.

The race was awarded to second home Potterman after officials spent 25 minutes inquiring into interference caused by Enrilo into the fast-finishing Kitty's Light.

Sent off the well-backed 7-2 favourite, Enrilo was placed third and as well as losing one of the more prestigious and historic handicaps in the calendar, the decision cost connections in excess of £52,000 in prize-money.
