Enable up against it in bid to emulate Treve
History is against Enable winning the Arc in 2018, as Treve is the only one of the previous 12 Arc-winning three-year-old fillies to follow up at four.
Nine of the 12 were kept in training, with Pearl Cap, Akiyda and Zarkava all being retired.
Of the other eight, six failed in their Arc defence. Samos was fifth in 1936, Coronation 11th in 1950, La Sorellina outside the first ten in 1954, San San 12th in 1973, and Three Troikas fourth in 1980, beaten less than a length by Detroit, who herself finished 20th in her defence in 1981.
Nikellora (1946) and Danedream (2012) raced on at four, but did not run in the Arc again. Danedream, who won the King George at four, missed the Arc because of a swamp-fever ban in Germany.
Corrida is the only filly or mare apart from Treve to win the Arc twice, and she did so at the ages of four and five (1936-37).
