Gordon Elliott's relentless pursuit of a first Irish trainers' title was never more obvious than in the first three months of 2018 when he sent out almost as many runners as Willie Mullins and Joseph O'Brien combined.

The 40-year-old, who made history on Easter Monday when becoming the first trainer to send out 200 winners in a season in Ireland, had 304 runners during January, February and March.

Mullins, who has over €550,000 of a deficit to make up on Elliott at Punchestown next week, had 189 runners during the same three months, while Joseph O'Brien had 119.
