Elliott mounting double-figure challenge in bid for Troytown five-timer

Gordon Elliott is going flat out to land a fifth consecutive Ladbrokes Troytown Chase at Navan on Sunday and expects to have a double-figure army of runners to aid his cause.

The trainer has 14 of the 37 acceptors for the three-mile event and nine of them are already assured a run in the race, which has a maximum field of 25.

General Principle, who gave the trainer his first Irish Grand National success when scoring at Fairyhouse in April, and recent Cork National winner Out Sam will be on Elliott's team for the €100,000 race.
