Tim Easterby dreaming of Classic glory with Dante-bound Wells Farhh Go
Tim Easterby is hopeful his rising star Wells Farhh Go is fit enough to do himself justice on his seasonal debut in the Betfred Dante Stakes at York on Thursday, with a tilt at the Investec Derby or William Hill St Leger potentially on the cards.
The son of Farhh, who is unbeaten in two starts and overhauled subsequent Greenham winner James Garfield in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York last August, has been pleasing the Yorkshire-based trainer at home ahead of his return to action.

Easterby said: "He's in good form. I’m very happy with how he looks. Basically, it’s his first run of the season and a stepping stone to the future."
A step up in trip was earmarked as a positive for the colt by Easterby, who noted that a mile and a half would be more suitable than the Dante’s extended mile and a quarter.
"He wants a mile and a half really," Easterby said. "I’m looking forward to it. He’s an exciting horse to have and we’ve had a few offers we’ve had to resist.
"I can’t see any track bothering him. He’s a big, rangy horse and he will improve as the season goes along."

Showing just how much he thinks of the Derby entry, Easterby added: “He's also in the French Derby. But the Leger might be more of a race for him."
Yorkshire-based trainers have enjoyed success in the Group 2 Dante recently, with the Mark Johnston-trained Permian winning last year and Karl and Elaine Burke's Derby runner-up Libertarian landing a 33-1 shock in 2013.
Wells Farhh Go is a best-priced 50-1 for the Epsom Classic next month with Betfred.
