'Don't forget Threat' says Hannon with star prospect on course for 2,000 Guineas
Richard Hannon on Wednesday issued an upbeat bulletin on Threat, who he believes has the right profile for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas if the race can be run at Newmarket.
Threat captured two Group 2 prizes as a juvenile, the Gimcrack at York and Doncaster's Champagne Stakes, before finishing fifth to Earthlight in a red-hot renewal of the Middle Park Stakes on his final start. He can be backed at a general 16-1 for the opening Classic.
Hannon has always had the Guineas in mind for the Cheveley Park-owned son of Footstepsinthesand and believes Threat could emulate Night Of Thunder, who won the race for the Hannon team in 2014. His father Richard Hannon snr won the Guineas three times.
