An amusing anecdote appeared in the Stratford racecard over the weekend in the regular 'Meet The Team' feature, which was all about Dr Philip Pritchard.

In the 'Funniest thing that's happened to me on a raceday' section, racecourse doctor Pritchard recalled the day he outgunned 20-time champion jockey Sir Anthony McCoy in a finish at Worcester.

"As we weighed in afterwards, because he had flu and was feeling unwell, McCoy told the clerk of the scales he needed to see the course doctor," Pritchard said.
