Thunderstorms on Tuesday night led to 20mm of rain on the Bury Side of town and 30mm on Racecourse Side but in the trainer's absence, the Clarehaven troops stuck to the Al Bahathri supervised by assistant Barry O'Dowd. Frankie Dettori was reunited with the daughter of Dansili for the first time since the French Oaks and on this evidence, he will have a difficult decision to make in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood next month, with stablemate So Mi Dar also pencilled in for that assignment.

Despite the deluge in the early hours, the Limekilns round gallop was still in use where the Royal Ascot winner looked a standout when covering nine furlongs with Leader's Legacy. The three-year-old has a number of options including at Glorious Goodwood in the coming weeks.

The Trillium Place team stayed off the turf and did what they do best up the Cambridge Road Polytrack where the Britannia Handicap winner led the charge under the trainer's wife Jennie. The three-year-old is prominent in the betting for both the International Handicap at Ascot and Betfred Mile at Goodwood but may struggle to beat the cut in both. Plan A at present is the Listed Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood on August 5th.

Prince Of ArranCharlie Fellowes
Fellowes was granted a rare request to work his progressive stayer with some of Sir Michael Stoute's team on the Al Bahathri Polytrack where he tuned up for another crack at Big Orange in the Goodwood Cup. Although Kevin Bradshaw was not taking any prisoners on useful miler Zainhom in the exercise, Prince Of Arran was far from disgraced.

SlipstreamGeorge Scott
Scott may be looking forward to moving to a new yard in 2018 but for now has his office in a Portakabin at Saffron House Stables on the Hamilton Road from where he will be plotting a course with this scopey youngster. The son of Invincible Spirit impressed in his latest work on the Cambridge Road Polytrack on Tuesday.

Great Work!

Has run into two smart types so far but mixed it with a useful three-year-old sprinter on the watered gallop and should make it third time lucky at Redcar on Sunday.
