Derby-winning rider John Reid hails Frankie Dettori's brilliance on Enable
Frankie Dettori's supreme ride on Enable in Saturday's monumental King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes should be an example to every jockey – not just aspiring ones – according to Derby-winning rider John Reid.
Reid, who won the Epsom Classic on Dr Devious in 1992, reckons Dettori is performing as well as ever and, like many in the sport, was left in awe of the superstar rider's prowess aboard Enable, who denied Crystal Ocean in the race of the season at Ascot.
Dettori used his whip just once on Khalid Abdullah's pride and joy in a pulsating finish, earning acclaim for his rhythmic pushing. It was a ride hailed by Reid, now a BHA-recognised jockey coach who also praised Crystal Ocean's partner James Doyle for his part in the Qipco-backed event.
