Newmarket rejoiced last week at the unveiling of plans for a new £10 million hill gallop on Racecourse Side to rival Warren Hill and give a shot in the arm to the less desirable side of the town.

Racecourse Side trainers were particularly pleased, although The Dikler expects some of the handlers on Bury Road were less than happy as Jockey Club Estates announced the plans.

You see, following a meeting of the National Trainers Federation earlier this year, Racecourse Side trainer Rae Guest insisted the new gallop had to be made a priority, a statement backed up by the likes of James Tate and Stuart Williams.
