Defi Du Seuil and Un De Sceaux are set for another showdown in the Matchbook Clarence House Chase at Ascot on Saturday after both horses featured among a final field of five for the prestigious Grade 1 contest.

The duo produced a spectacular finish in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown last month with Defi Du Seuil edging out his older rival by a neck for trainer Philip Hobbs, earning him quotes of 7-2 for the Champion Chase.

Colm O'Connell, son of Un De Sceaux's owner Eddie, said this week he was relishing the chance to reverse the form as the 12-year-old seeks a record fourth win in the Clarence House.

Bookmakers favour Defi Du Seuil to prevail once again with William Hill offering a best-priced 10-11. Un De Sceaux, who completed a hat-trick in the race in 2018, is a general 6-4 chance.

The field is completed by Janika, Marracudja and Capeland, who represents Paul Nicholls, a five-time winner of the contest.

At Haydock, ten have been declared for the £75,000 Peter Marsh Handicap Chase, won last year by Wakanda.

The final field includes Definitly Red, the Harry Fry-trained Acting Lass and Vintage Clouds, who finished third at the track last time.
