Gavin Cromwell takes aim at Royal Bond with exciting Supreme hope My Mate Mozzie
Few novice hurdlers have shone as brightly in the early throes of the season than the Gavin Cromwell-trained My Mate Mozzie, who is set to be unleashed again in Sunday's Grade 1 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle.
One of two major contenders for the stable at Fairyhouse's winter festival this weekend, the slick-jumping five-year-old is priced between 10-1 and 14-1 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle after an impressive Grade 3 success at Navan earlier this month.
"I'm looking forward to him," said Cromwell, who sent out Darver Star to finish third behind Envoi Allen and Abacadabras in the same Bar One Racing-backed race two years ago.
