An exhibition reflecting the history of the Curragh and the start of a new era at Ireland's 'Home of the Classics' will open at Sunday's Irish Cesarewich meeting and will remain open to the public from 10am to 4pm until October 14.

Sponsored by Michael Smurfit, the Rogers family and Friarstown Stud and organised by Nick O'Toole, the exhibition will give the public the opportunity to view many memorabilia and artifacts and will also showcase plans for the new-look racecourse.

Items on display will include the boots worn by Lester Piggott when he won the 1981 Irish Derby, the solid silver Irish Derby trophy won by Ballymoss in 1957, the racecard for the 1907 Derby won by Orby, the first horse to complete the Epsom-Curragh Derby double, and racecards from many other Classic days at the track.
