Perth determined to stay in business despite half a million financial shortfall

Perth has been left with a £500,000 hole in its finances after the cancellation of all jump racing until July.

But the independent track, set in the grounds of historic Scone Palace, stresses it is a "short-term" funding gap and is determined to survive the huge funding blow.

Chief executive Hazel Peplinski said: "Right now it's not sustainable but we're in talks with external banks and in talks with any emergency funding within the industry, with government, everyone because we've been here for more than 400 years and we're not going to let the coronavirus wipe us out.
