Cork set to return next month as course's Covid-19 testing hub continues

Cork racecourse has been playing its part in the fight against Covid-19 by allowing the track to be used as a coronavirus testing hub, and manger Andrew Hogan is optimistic that the course is in a strong position to host fixtures next month while continuing testing on alternate days.

Horse Racing Ireland offered up the facilities of Irish racecourses to the Health Service Executive (HSE) in late March, with the Mallow venue opening its doors to testers with a drive-through system.

Those being tested remain in their cars while medical professionals, who are utilising the course's press room and weighing room, carry out examinations on site.
