Confirmed runners and riders for the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle
Alan King and Hollie Doyle will once again join forces on Saturday with Rainbow Dreamer one of 20 declarations for the Betfair Northumberland Plate (3.35).
They struck at Royal Ascot last week with Scarlet Dragon in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes and will hope to repeat the trick at Newcastle.
Among Rainbow Dreamer's opposition is Australis, the ante-post favourite, who won on his seasonal reappearance at Wolverhampton.
The four-year-old finished half a length clear of Caravan Of Hope, who will bid to reverse the form for Hugo Palmer. The trainer also runs Collide, who finished seventh in the Copper Hill Handicap.
"I feel Caravan Of Hope has been crying out for a step up in trip," said Palmer. "He got no luck with his draw at Wolverhampton last time and both of my runners have had no luck again in stalls 17 and 19. If either wins the jockey will be getting a lot of praise.
"I hoped to run Caravan Of Hope at Ascot with some give in the ground but he didn't get in the Golden Gates Handicap. I see no reason why he shouldn't improve for a step up in trip.
"I wasn't going to declare Collide but he was full of himself this morning. I think when they're that well in themselves, you might as well run because they only go and hurt themselves at home.
"He's in great form and the ground was too quick at Ascot last week. He did not have too hard a race and both go there in great heart."
Carnwennan, who stormed clear to land the consolation prize, the Northumberland Vase, last season has also made the final field. The race will be televised on ITV and Sky Sports Racing.
