In the final part of our Sharp Rise diary, Charlie Longsdon's assistant Marcus Foley reflects on the horse's third under Brian Hughes in the American Grand National in New Jersey


It has been an enjoyable week and the horse picked up a nice bit of prize-money.

He gave himself a real clout when making a mistake and that caused him to lose his position. Brian said it took him a while before he thought about picking up the bridle again. We couldn't say he would have won but he did well to finish third having been so far back jumping the second last.
