Colin Keane: Westover is one of the best - if not the best - I've ridden
Colin Keane believes Westover could be the best horse he has ridden but is wary of Oaks runner-up Emily Upjohn as he prepares to partner the big-race favourite in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes on Saturday.
Westover routed his peers in last month's Irish Derby when blasting seven lengths clear at the Curragh under Keane, who was inheriting the ride from Rob Hornby following the son of Frankel's luckless passage when third in the Derby behind Desert Crown at Epsom.
The colt's trainer Ralph Beckett announced on Saturday the 27-year-old would be keeping the ride at Ascot and Keane, who will be competing in his first King George, is thrilled to maintain the partnership and is embracing the chance of another huge day.
