Colin Keane gets call up for plum ride on Mishriff in Irish Champion Stakes
Hollie Doyle also booked for major Matron mount aboard Saffron Beach
Two of Europe's leading jockeys have been called up for marquee rides on day one of Longines Irish Champions Weekend, with Colin Keane booked to partner Mishriff in the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes and Hollie Doyle set to partner Saffron Beach in the Coolmore America "Justify" Matron Stakes.
Mishriff had been ridden by James Doyle when finishing third in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and second in the Juddmonte International, but an injury to the rider's left hand in an incident at Salisbury last month means he remains sidelined for the Leopardstown feature.
Keane has already delivered big-race success for a British-trained runner in Ireland this season, having plundered a first Irish Derby aboard the Ralph Beckett-trained Westover at the Curragh in June.
