It is the stage of the Flat turf season when anything is possible and John Warren, bloodstock adviser to the Queen, is dreaming big with two of HerMajesty's best prospects for the season.

Although he has yet to shed his maiden tag, the William Haggas-trained Humbolt Current holds a Qipco 2,000 Guineas entry and, providing all goes to plan, he could target a trial before the opening Classic of the British Flat season.

Runner-up to then stablemate Willie John on his only start in a 7f Yarmouth novice stakes in October, Humbolt Current certainly looks a nice prospect for the season, especially after Willie John was sold to Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum for the princely sum of 1.9 million guineas in February and sent to Roger Varian.

"I think we might go to Newbury to try and win his maiden and then see if there's a [Guineas] trial after that,” said Warren, speaking after Fabricate had carried the royal silks to victory in the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton on Saturday.

He added: “William Haggas has always liked him and I think he could be a very nice, improving horse."

Humbolt Current is a general 66-1 chance for the 2,000 Guineas on May 5.

Estimate famously raised the roof at Royal Ascot when winning the Gold Cup for the Queen in 2013 and Warren is confident they have another nice stayer on their hands with Call To Mind, also trained by Haggas and a Listed winner at Goodwood last season.

"Call To Mind will be going for the John Porter,” he said. “It would be a big leap to think he's a Gold Cup horse but he'll be aimed at staying races to see whether he's good enough and we will give Ascot some thought.

"He's got of a lot of talent and has done fantastically well over the winter."
