California Chrome bourbon wrangle may give our pros something to think about

A former top American football player has found himself in a spot of bother after he was named in a lawsuit over the alleged failure to pay for sponsoring California Chrome at the Pegasus World Cup.

Ray’s Reserve, a brand of bourbon associated with former NFL star linebacker Ray Lewis, is being sued by Leverage Agency, which sells sponsorship at sports events.

According to celebrity news website TMZ, the whisky firm agreed to pay $50,000 to sponsor California Chrome in the world’s richest race, with jockey Victor Espinoza wearing the company’s branding on his breeches.
