Chris Gordon claimed in the High Court on Thursday that the Irish Racehorse Trainers Association threw one of its members, Liz Doyle, "under a bus" while orchestrating a campaign to prove he was not fit for purpose in his role as the head of security for the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board.

Gordon, who is suing the IRTA for defamation, was speaking on day seven of the trial. He claimed the association behaved maliciously in order to oust him from his position in the IHRB.

He also reiterated last week's assertion that he had been restricted in his duties since 2015 and that the Department Of Agriculture had withdrawn from assisting the IHRB with random stable inspections over pressure put on him by the IRTA.
