Cheltenham warning: stop ticket touting or you will end up going to jail

Cheltenham racegoers – and any would-be ticket tout – will be left in no doubt on Friday as to where the course stands on the issue supremo Ian Renton insists "has risen to the top of the complaints list from the racegoers" meaning "we had to take action".

Those attending the first day of the Showcase fixture – the first since Cheltenham won a landmark season-long High Court injunction on Thursday against the illegal buying and selling of tickets – will find notices and a monitored presence.

Anyone caught touting will be issued with a warning to stop operating or potentially face jail.
