Cheltenham lays claim to The Festival - and it seems to be working

The Dikler enjoyed three fabulous days at Cheltenham at the November meeting last week, not once feeling confused about which sporting event was taking place.

That's because last year the course elected to change the name from the Open meeting, to avoid the obvious dilemma as to whether tweed or plus fours were what should be being worn.

Perhaps buoyed by this success, Cheltenham has gone a step further and is hammering home that The Festival is well and truly its own, marking every utterance of the term with a ‘TM’.
